Spread the word........
Here are a couple of things people have sent me recently that I thought were worth spreading the word about;

http://www.thebreastcancersite.com/ If you go along to this website and click on the pink button that says 'fund free mamograms' the corporate sponsors/advertisers use the number of daily visits to donate mammograms in exchange for the advertising. Free to you and no need to register, just go along and click, subject yourself to a bit of advertising and hey presto, it's done.

www.freecycle.org This is an organisation that through yahoogroups helps people trade their unwanted goods. They allow you to advertise any item you no longer want but want to avoid sending to the rubbish tip. You can also look out for stuff you need, place wanted ads and it's all free, all you need to do is pick up the item. They're global so check out if there is a group in your area and if not start one!
Please note unless you tick the box that only sends you important notices you get inundated with emails from every person in your area that posts a message.

About 5 years ago, in the school I taught at, I decided to organise a testicular cancer awareness campaign among the boys. Obviously I consulted the school nurse, etc., and got good advice. But the real stroke of genius (which I was quite proud of) was to not approach the boys at all. Instead I got the senior GIRLS to make and wear a blue ribbon. Of course everyone was soon asking what the ribbon was for, and they told them. Suddenly, overnight, it became the coolest thing in school for the boys to go home and check themselves out in the shower.

I'm sure the blue ribbon probably stands for something else. But it didn't matter. I hope all those young men continue to be aware of the issue, wherever they are.

Hi Moonpie,
Those are both great sites. I've clicked the breast cancer site many times, but thanks for the reminder to go back more often.

Cheers,
