I thought seeing as I haven't mentioned my escapades over the christmas holidays I post a few pictures of what I got up to but seeing as in most of them I am terribly drunk I chose some nice scenic ones. The top one is me in Northumberland the look of joy on my face is due to the fact I was having great fun kicking huge chunks of ice into the river below, oooh the small pleasures, I'm easily pleased! The second one is of a hawthorn hedge, I love hawthorn it is such a beautiful tree especially at this time of year when it's bare but luminous with moss. This photo is part of my painting project but I messed around in Photoshop with it a bit and quite liked the result so thought I'd post it. The bottom one I took in Derbyshire over Christmas. I stayed in a lovely converted barn with my parents, brother, sister-in law, 2 aunties, uncle and my two lovely nephews for the week. We had a right laugh, lots of organized fun arranged by my auntie. I got carried away on the kareoke on christmas eve, the booze was flowing, and I threw up as we opened our presents the next day, in the toilet obviously, not pleasant though. It was great to spend Christmas in the countryside and lovely to spend time with my nephews. My two year old nephew took a real shine to me ( and the feelings mutual, he's adorable) and his Mum made me his godmother. I really missed him once we'd left. But it's going to take more than that to make me broody, I'm content with my fairy godmother status! Oh my goodness I just noticed the time. I've got to go, I'm still in work, I shall get locked in!

It's so fun to see what you really look like. I had this complete misconception that you looked like Twiggy -- sort of waifish and short-haired, with false eyelashes.
Sounds like you and the karaoke machine made friends. I don't drink around those things for fear I will break into song.

You look great and so happy, Moonpie! Fairy Godmum! Yeah!
I like that you played around with the Hawthorn hedge. Very nice colours.
Sounds like you enjoyed a bash with your family but maybe you didn't make it out of the building? I hope so!

Hi Moonpie,
Good to read that you enjoyed your family time. I'm glad I've reassured you about air traffic control. Enjoy your flight :)

Hiya!
Ing: Waifish: I wish! I like the thought though! Karaoke machines are extremely dangerous things, I started out(after much encouragment) coyly singing 'These boots are made for walking'. By the end of the night I was screaming 'The greatest Love of all' at the top of my voice, I can't stand that song! I'm just happy I wasn't in public.
Gina: Glad you liked my hawthorn photo. I haven't played with photoshop for a while, it's always good fun. I'm so pleased the family holiday all went smoothly, I was a little worried for a while. I haven't spent that much time with my family since I moved out when I was 17. Had a tough time getting on with them then, I think that time is finally healing the rift between us. They're a good lot really, there were just too many hormones flying around in those days, I always felt like the black sheep, turns out I couldn't be more like them!
Anne-Marie:Thanks,I'm hoping for a smooth one! I mean't to ask you if you enjoyed the Who convention? My partner and I have been talking about going for years but we're always too broke when it comes round. We may try and make it this year if the tickets don't sell out.

Moonpie,
I really enjoyed the Who Convention. Of course, a lot of my friends from Who boards were there as well, and so we booked the same cheap B & B near Victoria Station and hung out together the other times. We took the train to Brighton on Friday (they waited for me while my flight went sightseeing in Birmingham, which was sweet) and checked out Quad-related sites, and then went around LOndon before the convention. I had to fly home that Sunday but some had been there for a week doing Who-things together.
If I can get a cheapie from my brother, I might go over at the last minute. You'll meet some nice people and have great fun. I'd say go!
Cheers,
