'The Raven' by David Inshaw.
I came across this yesterday here; http://www.ruralistfineart.co.uk/ (you can buy a print of it if you've got a spare £250!) I'm really discovering a love for art again, I think this is just great, it turns out my boyfriend had this on his bedroom wall as a teenager. The brotherhood of Ruralists are a big inspiration to me, I love their ideology. I also find the idea of a brotherhood really appealing, a group of artists with common passions, working together, supporting and driving each other. Very romantic, in the classic sense of the word. Anyone fancy starting a brotherhood?

Hi Moonpie, Thanks for your imprint memory on my Blog! That's interesting since last week I believe Hong Kong executed a 24 year old man for smuggling heroin!
I like your Blog also. Cool pics!

Thanks Ed,
I like your imprint memory blog, it's a great idea.
It's amazing how strongly memories like that are imprinted, I could tell you everything about my surroundings at the time I witnessed the news report even down to the weather outside.
I hadn't heard about the Hong Kong incident. I did hear something on the radio about how in China when people are shot by the firing squad the family of the executed get a bill for the bullet. I find that really disturbing.
I'm so glad Britain doesn't have the death penalty. Though I'm always a little shocked that in public opinion polls many people claim to want to bring it back. I pray it will never happen, that would be so backward .
There is also the famous case in America at the moment of Stanley Tookie Williams. I haven't heard the decision yet as to whiether Arnie has come through and granted a clemency or not, but seeing as Tookie Williams has been working with kids to teach them about the dangers of gangs, I can't believe they are even considering executing him. It will just exaserbate the feelings of resentment and anger amongst America's black youth and widen the gap of misunderstanding, in turn causing more unrest.
The whole 'gangland' image, that I feel is exploited by rappers, people selling trainers and hollywood, is a very negative one, but at the same time a very strong one. And when a 'young man ain't got nothing in the world' apart from an image that he can strongly relate to, one that makes him feel important, one that makes him feel like a man, then you can't blame him for embracing it. It's just unfortunate that the image is linked to violence, that it is seen to make guns and gangland shootings cool, cause which ever way you look at it it is certainly not cool. Thats why it is so important that the people who have learnt this lesson the hard way like Tookie help vunerable kids to understand this before it is too late. His execution would be not only an utter waste of human life but also a huge injustice to the kids he could have helped. It's cases like this that proove too me that the death penalty is a ridculous, pointless and barbaric. When the people in charge have such a lack of respect for human life then how can you expect any one else to.
And after that little rant I'm off to put my christmas tree up!
Regards,
Moonpie

Thanks for posting. I haven't heard anything about Mr. Williams either, but I imagine it would be tough for Arnold to NOT grant clemency, now that he's so publicly consented to meet with Mr. Williams's lawyers. I imagine we'll hear the rest of the story late tomorrow night.
I like the painting you posted. Crows are my favorite birds.
