Not much changes round here!

Tuesday, January 27, 2009

To Gina, Paul, Anne Marie and Ian.
I'm sure you've all given up on visiting this blog as I have grown rather blogshy of late (six months is inexcusable, I'm terribly sorry!) I'm afraid I've lost my blogging confidence, with my writing anyhow. I've been rather busy though and have found a number of creative outlets that I'm extremely excited about. So much so I decided I needed a new blog and so have opened 'Honeybuzzard' a little space for myself and my friends to post up our artistic endeavours. It's literally two days old, so only a baby but I'm hoping it will and grow and expand into a great talloned beast! It'd be lovely if you could all pop by at some point and if any of you would like to contribute anything you feel would be fitting at Honeybuzzard just send me an email. I'm not going to close Moonpie Musings but I can't see it's use increasing, it's just going to quietly disapear into the blogesphere.
So farewell for now!
Lots of love
Moonpie XXX

Hi all,
Well my new flat is an absolute dream, I couldn't ask for more. The only problem is that my internet connection is appalling, so very slow, hence my absence from blogger. But as I am quickly approaching thirty (only two days left of my twenties) I figured it was time I made an appearance. I've been rushing around trying to complete tasks I've set myself before the new decade begins. I've been working on several exciting projects, designing badges, helping to try and save an old railway bridge and assisting my friends set up their new festival tea tent, I've designed a logo, made badges and painted a huge sign for them. Twist and Spout (the tea tent) opens it's doors (or should I say flaps) at a small festival in Lynmouth Devon on Saturday, so I shall be spending my thirtieth dancing my socks off by the sea, I can't think of anything better!
Below are a few photos of the new flat, well the garden anyhow, as I mentioned it's Victorian and very grand, we even have a tower! (Well it isn't ours but is the view out of our window.) It's so serene and apparently used to be a home to nuns, we're trying to find out it's history as we think it was some sort of institution but have so far drawn a blank, I found an 1888 map when our building was the only thing for miles and it was labeled in very large letters which lead me to believe it was something people would travel to. The picture of the sparrowhawk was taken just after we had arrived after receiving the keys.He was sat right outside our window. I, being that way inclined, saw being greeted by this little fellow a very good sign indeed!

I really need to get to ready for work so I had better be off, just wanted to wish you all well and prove I haven't disappeared down a big hole (in an Alice fashion!) GOODBYE FOR NOW!

After a year's waiting and a bloody awful couple of weeks we're finally on the cusp of moving out of our tiny little flat by the river. This is long awaited, things have been getting rather grim around here for quite some time, the river is slowly being absorbed by our four walls and there's a constant mist that steams up glasses and feeds the houseplants. All our possesions are quietly disintigrating and every tiny little empty space we had to begin with has now been crammed, stuffed, piled and squeezed, there ain't been no cat swinging for quite some time. But as cursed as this flat has become I'll still be sad to leave the river and our beautiful view, we'd never have stayed so long if it wasn't for the marvels of nature that present themselves each time we look out of the window. The ducks and swans, herons knee deep and kingfishers perched on the willow, the flowing ripples catching in sunlight and the reflection of the new moon, I'll miss all this terribly, so this is my tribute to my little bit of river.

I'm a little excitable this evening, I'm looking forward to new beginnings. I realised a little while ago that all the clocks in our flat had stopped, thought that sad and figured it really was a time for change, but since then the changes that seem to have been set in motion have been so out of my control that I've wished for everything just to be normal again, these times of change are scary things, all kinds of things get thrown at you, this week I got a glimpse of how very fragile life is and it was terrifying. But anyway, I feel full of good intentions, like the first day of term and all the darkness of the past weeks has hopefully cleared. I just have my fingers crossed that we have nice neighbours and our new flat isn't haunted.(It's victorian)
I did want to say more but I'm now rushing to finish this before twelve o'clock because I fear my internet connection will cease or I'll turn into a pumpkin. Farewell for now! (Happy Spring Equinox and Full Moon!)

So sorry all, yes I am alive and well! It's been so long I'd forgotten how to log in. Just a quick one as I'm just off to the plot to help with some poly tunnel building, very exciting, it's huge! I'm a little worried it may just be another warm/dry distraction from the actual gardening but there is nothing wrong with slow progress, it's still progress after all. Hope everyone is well. I'll try and not leave another 3 months till my next post.
