I saw a great film last night called 'Waking Life'. The beauty of you tube is that I don't have to try to explain it, I really wouldn't know where to start anyhow.

This is incredibly interesting both visually and philosophically —lot of ideas to process, though— it is right up my street; I will give it a whirl; I’m sure I’ll watch this a few times. Although visually more stunning, it has a similar feel to ‘What the Bleep do we know?” In addition, “Baraka” is another movie with a philosophical bent, but it allows you to do all the “talking” –it is visuals only, beautiful, ugly, sad, happy; you get from it what you bring to it —a great cinematic experience.

Thanks for all the great recommendations. Have a great weekend,

Hi Paul,
Funny you should mention Baraka, as I watched it only the other day, in fact it was lent to me along with this one by a friend. I agree it's an extremely moving film. It has some very disturbing scenes, like the one inside a chicken factory, where the chicks are being sorted on a conveyor belt, I found that so shocking, even though I should really be aware (and kind of am) that this kind of stuff goes on in the production of our food, it really made me want to become a vegetarian, seeing life being treated with SUCH little respect. But then at the other extreme their is the scene where their is some kind of ritual going on, men cross legged, raising there arms in unison and chanting, that was so powerful to watch. I said to my boyfriend "you know why they are doing that don't you... because it's f-king great fun!" probably alot more to it I know but it did look like alot of fun.
What the bleep do we know? sounds really interesting, I'll be sure to catch that one, thanks!
Thank goodness for the weekend, have a good one!

Hi Moonpie,
And I have to respond to your comment immediately with another ‘funny you should mention it’; that scene, that one scene you mention where you commented to your boyfriend, is the very scene my friend tried to show a bunch of us last week. He was definitely of the same opinion that they are doing it because it is ‘fucken’ good. One of the group of friends has suggested we try it at the next party – collective chanting – the next party might be a costume Halloween party. Can you imagine the scene? Almost identical to the movie with our makeup and fancy costumes! Take care and have fun (chanting or not!)

P.S. I am sure my friend will get a kick out of your comment about the scene the next time I see him!

Hehe, that's really peculiar!
A great idea, trying it out, you should film it if you do. Now I'm wishing I had a Halloween fancy dress party to go to, still time to get invited to one yet, I guess. I might just dress up as a zombie just for the hell of it.

Hi Moonpie,
The second clip really makes you think- there are a lot of idea wisps there. Interesting visual style too.
