Eeeeek, I'm going to see The Who in Leeds! Just bought some presale tickets, I was going to wait till they came on sale properly but got all twitchy and worried that they'd sell out so spent the extra. Sooooo excited, my boyfriend doesn't know yet and he's going to be so pleased. To make it even better I think I persuaded a few friend to come too, they all seem keen so I'm hoping they all manage to get tickets.
When I saw the line-up was Super Furry Animals- The Flaming Lips- The Who it just had to be done. A couple of weeks ago I watched an excellant film about the Flaming Lips called 'The Fearless Freaks' and decided there and then that they are a must see, their stage shows look amazing, totally full on, they really know how to get their audience going. In one of their shows Wayne Coyne was passed over the audience in a huge plastic Zorb ball (which is kind of like a hamster ball for people) it looked brilliant. I doubt he does this often but they look fab anyway. I saw the Super Furry Animals a few years ago headlining Summer Sundae and they were really good too, I think, I was a little pished by the time they came on, I remember swaying anyway. And well The Who, no more needs to said on that, I'm sure your well aware of my feelings on this one.
So very very happy! Got to go home now so I tell Shoey the good news. Terah!

Hi Moonpie,
What a nice surprise to have you visit my blog.
I read some of yours, and I enjoyed it.
I also read the comments, (don't we all?, I wonder?)
I agree with Gina, if it weren't for that Man, we wouldn't know of each other. I like the diversity of humanity on the blog. My world has gotten a bit, homgenous as of late. I love my friends, my life, but there is a sameness to it all. I am a stay at home MOM (uggh, that sounds awfully trite, doesn't it?) And well, I'm sort of in this "bubble". I am grateful for the bubble, and I like superficiality. It just means, that for now, the horror of the world, is at bay. I take nothing for granted, even the superficial. But blogging as put me in contact with some very interesting people. So, glad to meet you, Moonpie.
Keep Musing!

How much were the advance tickets for Leeds? Just curious.
Otherwise, yeah: wooo-whooo!
Anyway, going on 5 PM here, heading home. Enjoy your weekend! And weeks and months to look forward to the concert.

Very nice to meet you too, lzygrl. Your bubble sounds nice, and your kids are lucky to have a stay at home Mom, good on you. It seems these day that having a career is the done thing and staying home is undervalued, it seems that way in England anyway. I think its got to be the most important job there is. My sister-in-law is one of the hardest working people I know, shes got a five and a two year old, they're are a proper handful, of course they're are adorable but they'd run me ragged after a day, really they would.
The city I was born in and that I still live in, having never moved away, has the motto 'Semper Eadem' it means 'always the same' .Bloody awful motto and the sad thing is it's true. But I just look at other citys and they all seem the same too so it seems to make more sense to stay near my friends and family, it is also, a nice bubble to be in. Planning to one day escape to the countryside where everything is forever changing.
Pop by and have a virtual cup of tea anytime!

Hiya Gina,
The tickets were not that much more I think it worked out £44 instead of £37. My friends managed to get tickets this morning for the cheaper price though, so there was no need really. Ah well all that matters is that I'm going. And my weeks, months of getting excited will keep me happy, I always love having something to look forward to.
5:00PM I can never get my head round the time difference are you into tomorrow or am I, and if your in tommorow can you tell me what happens? :)
Or is that Friday end of work 5:00PM, if so Happy Weekend!

all this ticket buying is, well, freaking me out!
I missed the last tour, I had other obiligations, and I didn't see ONE show. Now, I don't care what is on the calendar, I've got to be there.
I hate the guessing game of when and where in the US, they will be. I'm not stupid, I know they will be in NYC, at the Garden, for sure. But, I am hoping, like a nit, that there will be some smaller venue, one in which my aging eyes will be able to see better in. I don't want to watch my heros on celluloid (sp?)
Anyway, Moonpie, I noticed you are a Georgy Girl fan as well as Fahernheit 451, wow, I loved those movies as a child, at that time I was told I was an "old soul", I wonder what that makes you? Cool! That's it, just makes you a "cool soul".
Take care. Thanks for the tea!

Lzygrl, mmm yeah Georgy Girl, I'm a big fan of Alan Bates and he's just gorgeous in this one, an absolute sweety (although a bit of a bastard at the end). Lynne Redgrave and Charlotte Rampling are brillliant in it too. My boyfriends favourite actress is Julie Christie so we have most of her films, well all the 60's ones. Fahernheit 451 is a stunning film, a particular favourite of my boyfriends because she plays two characters! They just don't make films like that anymore.
Good luck with getting your Who tickets. I suppose it can turn out to be a proper expedition if they play no where near you, the US being so big and all. They seem to be playing quite different venues to there last tour in the UK, so you maybe lucky, if they didn't play near you last time this could be your chance. Fingers crossed!
9:44 AM
I'll take Shampoo Warren Beatty, to your boyfriend's Julie Christie...tho, he still makes me swoon!
